Born in Israel in 1973, Dan Gertler is an entrepreneur and philanthropist. He is an Honorary Consul of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in Israel since 2003, and Senior Advisor to a private group of companies called the Fleurette Group, which makes significant investments in areas like mining, infrastructure, oil and agriculture. The company has invested over US$1.5 billion in the DRC and has developed first class assets and has a solid reputation for attracting and creating solid JV with international companies.

Philanthropy and Sponsorship

Dan Gertler is also co-founder of the Gertler Family Foundation (GFF), which is an initiative of the Gertler Family Trust. Since its inception in 2004, the GFF has invested millions of dollars in health, agriculture, education, infrastructure development, emergency, cultural and other projects in Kinshasa, Katanga, Kasaï-Oriental, Maniema, Orientale and Sud Kivu provinces and elsewhere throughout the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Through the years various partnerships have been established with local government agencies and charitable organisations like Operation Smile, SOS Children’s Villages, Caritas and UNICEF, as well as health centres like Hopital du Cinquantenaire of Kisangani, which the foundation has refurbished and operates for the last years.
Besides his work with the Gertler Family Foundation, Dan Gertler is also personally involved with charitable endeavours in his native country, and makes regular donations in aid of community development in Israel, in areas including local education, social welfare and healthcare.
